QuestionCoveBot:

Alright. | x=? | 2x+9 | 8x+1 | What do we do firstly?

xXQuintonXx:

seperate the ones with variables and ones that dont have varables then add em right?

QuestionCoveBot:

Yes.

xXQuintonXx:

2x + 8x= 10x 9 + 1= 10

QuestionCoveBot:

._. Now... (ignore what happened) \[2x+9\]\[8x+1\]What are your variables that go together and numbers-

QuestionCoveBot:

Nevermind. You already got it. ;/ So, what is out new equation now that you have 10x and 10?

xXQuintonXx:

i forgot wut to do next

QuestionCoveBot:

You have 10x and 10 What is the equation? Addition, subtraction, dividing, multiplying 10x and 10?

xXQuintonXx:

i multiply 10x10 right?

QuestionCoveBot:

And why do you think this?

xXQuintonXx:

nvm mb i gotta add em together and then times it by x right?

xXQuintonXx:

to make 180

QuestionCoveBot:

Yes. Add them together.

xXQuintonXx:

x = 9

QuestionCoveBot:

So it would be...\[10x*10\]

QuestionCoveBot:

How did you get 9?

xXQuintonXx:

10 + 10 = 20 * x =9 20*9=180

xXQuintonXx:

nvm its not 9

boredfr:

When you have a straight line as shown is always equals 180 so (2x+9)+(8x+1)=180 So first you combine like terms- 9+1=10 and 2x+8x+10x so 10+10x=180 then you subtract 10 from both sides (what you do from one side you do to the other) 10x+10-10=180-10 Then you get 10x=170 Then you divide 170 by 10x and 170 divided by 10 =17 So your answer is 17
