Your picture is of a linear pair linear pairs are two angles that add up to equal 180 degrees
add the two equations togheter, and combine like terms first. they should add up to 180 the degree of a straight line, then simplfy to x=?
so i had the like terms together now?
yes 3x + 2 + 6x - 20 = 180
*add
9x + 22 = 180 so then i do 9 * X and find out wut makes it so that i can add 22 to make 180 right?
hold up 2 - 20 = -18 not 22
oh mb
and then yes, you are looking for "What number times 9 minus 18 equals 180"?
X=18
so i get a number that can be subtracted by 18 to make 180?!!?
so u should have 9x+(2-20)=180 which is 9x+-18=18 so what can u do to get rid of the -18 on one side?
then you would apply the same thing on the other
i subtract the other 18?
no 9x-18-->9x what would u do
9x - 18 = 180 +18 +18
so its now 9x - 36 = 198?
9x-18+18=9x
Ok so like the other ones it is a straight line which means it is equal to 180 So that means (3x+2)+(6x-20)=180 Combine like terms (3x+6x)+(2+-20)=180 aka 9x+-18=180 Now add 18 to both sides to cancel it out (what you do to one side you have to do to the other) 9x+ -18 +18= 180+18 aka 9x=198 Now divide 198 by 9 and what do you get?
uh...
its 22
yes
