Obvi the United States purchased that whole area to gain freedom from France and that other country if I'm correct,so they basically did all of that just to gain freedom from them so the people of America (citizens of the united states) could do as they please without authority interference from those to other countries.
So with this being said, we can basically cross off answer options A and C bc those wouldn't really be the main viewpoint for America.
As I said they are trying to make their union stronger without any putbacks from those of other countries, so they wanted to do what they wanted when they wanted. Between answer options B and D which do u think is correct?
