I have an English project and It involves describing a character in great detail, which I suck at, any tips for words I could use?

Alright.

Explain their looks, their IQ (smartness), their agility, their personality, etc.

Just not too much detail.

I would also explain something that makes them unique to all the other characters in the book, story, or film. I would use it to be able to explain each character thoroughly. I did like how detailed QCB's answer was, it explained many characteristics of a character. One final thing that I will add is if they had family members in the story, as so:
EXAMPLE:

John-Son
Dad-?
Peter told his Son, John, that he needed to take out the trash

John-Son
Dad-Peter
