So when your y-vaule changes it becomes negative in the first one.
\[(5,2)--->(5,-2)\]
If you were reflecting it on the y-axis it would turn into ;
\[(5,2)--->(-5,2)\]

And for your second one, since it's already negative, negative turns into a positive;
\[(-3,-4)--->(-3,4)\]
