SunnyLandscape04:

How can I create some texture on my art?

jakfishman:

well can i see what your adding to?

SunnyLandscape04:

I current;y do not have anything to add to, Because the assignment is to do a rough draft with many different types of texture on it.

SunnyLandscape04:

But I need ideas on how to create textures. Could you please help?

SmokeyBrown:

I think it would depend on the medium you're working with (digital, physical, pencils, paints, etc) In general, I think you wanna pay attention to shading and coloring to convey the feel of a surface (that's what texture is, basically, right?)

SunnyLandscape04:

Sort of, and I am doing traditional paper and pencil lol/

That's cool! There's actually some tricks you can try with pencil and paper. If your paper is thin enough, you can try placing something underneath the paper and shading over that. Then the shade you made will take on the "texture" of the surface you placed underneath. You can also take advantage of the texture of the paper itself, if it's the rough sketch kind

SmokeyBrown:

Not sure if that's actually practical lol. But it could be fun to try!

I will try lol, anything to get my stoopid project done.
