Rylee88:

The path of a race will be drawn on a coordinate grid like the one shown below. The starting point of the race will be at (−5.5, 2). The finishing point will be at (2, −5.5). Use the grid to determine in which quadrants the starting point and the finishing point are located. Explain how you determined the locations. A checkpoint will be at (5.5, 2). In at least two sentences, describe the differences between the coordinates of the starting point and the checkpoint, and explain how the points are related.

so confused

itsmehjay:

Have you already graphed your starting point and your finishing point? If so, what quadrants were they both in?

itsmehjay:

Your starting point is (-5.5,5) so find that Your finishing points is (2,-5.5) so find that point

surjithayer:

(x,y) x=0,it is on y-axis. when x>0,it is in 1st or 4th quadrant. when x<0,it is in 2nd or 3rd quadrant. y=0,it is on x -axis. y>0,it is in 1st or 2nd quadrant. y<0,it is in 3rd or 4th quadrant.

tahst what i used to pass 9th grade

surjithayer:

(-5.5,2) x=-5.5<0,so 2nd or 3rd quadrant. y=2>0 so it is in 1st or 2nd quadrant. 2nd quadrant is common. so it lies in 2nd quadrant.
