I'm looking at a website, and under the Alg 1 tab it has square roots

So basically the question you had about squareroots is Intro to Alg 1

*Alg 1 = Algebra 1*

Every school district has its own curiculam *sorry if I butchered the spelling there*
My school district offered Alg 1 in the 8th grade, but didn't actually teach it teach it until the 9th grade.  If you took Alg 1 in the 8th grade, it would've been credited as an Honors level class
