How many outcomes are in the sample space for pulling a marble out of the box and spinning the spinner? (5 points) Question 4 options: 1) 9 2) 8 3) 16 4) 18

I will give medal if awnser is right

SmokeyBrown:

OfficialShonna is correct. There are 4 types of marbles--white, green, red, orange; there are 4 spaces for the spinner to land on (we can call them 1,2,3,4) So here are all the possible outcomes from these two combined events: w1, w2, w3, w4 g1, g2, g3, g4 r1, r2, r3, r4 o1, o2, o3, o4 You'll notice it's 4x4 possibilities. For each of the 4 marbles, there are 4 possible spinner outcomes; that's 16 outcomes in all. Incidentally, since each marble has an equal chance of being picked and each spinner space also has an equal chance of being landed on, the probability for each of these 16 outcomes would be the same: 1/16
