How to solve 1-step equations a guide!
So, I've seen a lot of the same questions on one topic. There are a lot of topic this applies for but none more that 1-step equations so I'm here to help :).
First, you want to get all the x's and numbers on one side. I often see people struggle with, but it's actually quite ez. All you want to do is try to get the x out of the other side by other plus or minus. And since it's a EQUATION you do that to the other side as well. Then you repeat that step but with numbers.
Next, so you have your numbers all on one side yay! Now you want to simplify! Add all your like terms. Add all the x's together all the numbers together!
Finally, you want to find x. For example, 5x=20---x=???. To do this simply divide both sides by the constant
Here's an example:
8x+5=2x+10---8x+5-5=2x+10-5--8x=2x+5--8x-2x=2x+5-2x--6x=5--6x/6=5/6--x=5/6.
