wait i got the answer! Thanks tho :)
Angela drinks 1/4 of the milk and 1/6 of coffee and that makes her 8 ounce mixture So assuming you have three more family members with that same combination 1/4 and 1/6 1/4 and 1/6 1/4 and 1/6 you'd be left with 2/6 coffee left which means someone has some other combination so maybe let's split the 1/4th into half and that would make the amount of coffee double so that way we still have an 8 ounce mixture? 1/4 and 1/6 1/8 and 2/6 1/8 and 2/6 and including Angela's original 1/4 and 1/6 we get a total of 3/4 and 6/6 so that doesn't work out either hmm
if we made it into an equation mhmm Angela drinks m milk and c coffee m + c = 8 and then m/4 + c/6 should equal something
4m+6c=8n m+c=8-->m=8-c 2m+3c=4n-->16+c=4n multiple of 4 between 16 and 24 is 20/4=5 heres how i did it
so if she drank 1/4th of the milk, then the entire milk was 4m and likewise 6c 4m + 6c = 8 * number of people
aha, I was on the right track Thank you!!
I decided to search up your question to see if there were similar problems out there and apparently there's multiple ways to solve this https://artofproblemsolving.com/wiki/index.php/2000_AMC_12_Problems/Problem_13
