let us take x=0 \[y=(\frac{ 1 }{4 })^0=1\] let us take x=-2 \[y=(\frac{ 1 }{ 4 })^{-2}=\frac{ 1 }{(\frac{ 1 }{ 4 })^2 }=\frac{ 1 }{ \frac{ 1 }{ 16 } }=16\] let us take x=2 \[y=(\frac{ 1 }{4 })^2=\frac{ 1 }{ 16 }\] similarly we can put any real value. so domain is ?
