Introduction to what exactly?

Start with a quotation. Open with a relevant stat or fun fact. Start with a fascinating story. Ask your readers an intriguing question. Set the scene.

i am doing this TDA and i haven´t started my introduction this is what the prompt says ¨In “Labels for Life”, the author states, “Learning how to read a nutrition label is not only a great lesson in the key elements of nutrition, but it’s also a great way to learn about making better choices.” Write an essay analyzing how the author supports this statement throughout the passage. Use text evidence to support your answer. ¨

simsharrison:

Ill jump back on this later, im in class rn, but afterwards ill help, in like 45-55 minutes.

aidenj:

Keep your first sentence short. Don’t repeat the title. Keep the introduction brief. Use the word “you” at least once. Dedicate 1-2 sentences to articulating what the article covers. Dedicate 1-2 sentences to explaining why the article is important. Refer to a concern or problem your readers might have. But ... be careful telling stories. Use a stat or fact to convey importance. hopefuly this helps

Ashnotfound:

oh okok! have a good time at class:)

crispyrat:

So first start out with a hook something to catch the readers eye, then say what you want to achieve with this introduction then summarize you main points in a way that doesn't spoil it but provides the info readers need-->this is called thesis

The hook is basically your main component when creating your introduction. You want something catchy and informal so the reader wants to learn more based on your topic.
