Well, to find the \(m\) part of \(y=mx+b\), do \(\dfrac{rise}{run}\), the \(m\) here would be \(\dfrac{3}{1}\), or just 3. And both of these are opposites, so \(m\) is \(\color{lime}{3}\) and \(\color{cyan}{-3}\). now we have to find \(b\), to find b look at the graph and locate the points at which the lines cross the y axis, this would be \(\color{lightgreen}{6}\) and \(\color{lightblue}{-6}\) now plug in the choices into 2 \(y=mx+b\) equations, \(y=\color{lime}{3}x+\color{lightgreen}{6}\) \(y=\color{cyan}{-3}x+\color{lightblue}{-6}\) and there's your answer.

JamesTDG:

I generally just plug it into my graphing calculator

Extrinix:

Same, just a more thorough explanation for people who don't have graphing calculators.

hhanan:

thank you

Extrinix:

You're welcome.

that is very true, Desmos is a good website for graphing.

As long as you use the official site, the desmos GC widgets on school sites suck

Extrinix:

Yea.
