KidPanda:

Where is the lotus flower scene from Percy Jackson actually inspired from??

SmokeyBrown:

That scene was inspired by the Island of the Lotus Eaters from the Odyssey by Homer, which you can read about here https://www.britannica.com/topic/Lotus-Eater Percy Jackson takes a lot of inspiration from Greek mythology; it's pretty neat

SmokeyBrown:

You can see the similarities in the use of the Lotus flower and because both scenes are places where the travelers are tempted to forget about their journey by becoming blissfully unaware and trapped
