Tranquility:

Interesting bug. You're messaging yourself You send a message to yourself You receive that message too Hence two messages

pytdestiny:

this is a spam post. Non-school related.

Wanna:

Timmyspu:

Ya I am having the same problem except when I recieve a message I get double.

FaZeGhost:

same

Tranquility:

I'm curious if Ultrilliam would define this as a bug. Think about it like this: You write a letter to yourself. You have the letter with you so that's the letter you're going to be sending (to yourself). You then mail it out and the letter comes back into your mailbox. Now you have that same letter which you sent out. Two messages because you sent it AND received it Maybe he can find a way so that it's just one message and then messaging yourself serves more as a place to store things hmm

Hey - not sure if you're addressing me, but I did say I couldn't replicate it earlier haha Just kinda disappointing that I can't join the party 😁

Timmyspu:

Ya that makes sense tranq

kittybasil:

I know of a couple sites that let you message yourself. Some even TELL you that it's for storage. Pretty cool! Wish I could get that "feature" 😔

Earlier there were 2 and now theres 1 and when i text it again there is 2?

KIllerwolfdaone:

oh my

Tesss:

The same thing i happening to me.

Positivity:

I am very confused.

Tesss:

is*

Tranquility:

Interesting. The double messages are only seen initially. Once you refresh, it consolidates the two messages into one because the sender and the recipient are the same

Positivity:

Oh, but then why does it say you cant message yourself if you can.

You're not supposed to be able to! Nice accidental easter egg there

But why bother with a place to store things when the notebook exists as a place to store things

Is this a bug ultrilliam?

Good catch on knowing the reason though! However this only happens client side since the sending and receiving events are separate meaning the message is shown for both events. Server side this clearly isn't the case so when you refresh its normalized

Ultrilliam:

This is however a bug because it shouldn't be possible to message yourself, but I messed something up so only people with lowercase usernames can't message themselves... Gotta fix that lol

Positivity:

Does this mean you will be making that awfully long message appear all over again. And the -99 all over...

Ultrilliam:

What?

Positivity:

Remember when you made everyone go yellow and that huge message appeared at the top of the screen

Positivity:

that thing...

Ultrilliam:

... no?

Ultrilliam:

No both to it happening and I think I may vaguely remember what you're talking about
