jessiegirl:

the square root of 209 is 14.456832295 but to make it smaller its 14.456 but after the 6 its an 8 so do i round the 6 to a 7 to make it 14.457 ?? if that makes sense

Joe348:

Yes I think it would be better to round it to 14.457 because 68 is closer to 70 but it depends on how far you would be rounded it.... or you could do 14.5 (sorry if this didn't make sense)

lucasp16:

If you are rounding to the nearest thousandth, then yes, the 8 in the ten thousandths place would change the 6 in the thousandths place into a 7.

jessiegirl:

ok thank you

Joe348:

No problem just hope it helps c:

jessiegirl:

it doesnt say how much to round it to so do i still round it, if it doesnt say anything about rounding

Joe348:

If it doesnt say then you probably would not have to round it but you should ask because the majority of the time you have to round it

jessiegirl:

ok

lucasp16:

If it didn't specify, I would be safe and write out the whole decimal. That being said, a decimal answer that large is kind of unusual so I would check your math to make sure.

jessiegirl:

alr thanks
