xXQuintonXx:

i forgot how to do this._.

axie:

let me think rq

axie:

ok so start by writing the eqaution

axie:

then we want to get rid of the 3 (not the one attached to the x) to do this we just simple subtract 3 from both sides, so 3=0 and 9=6

axie:

then we want to get rid of the two on the bottom, to cancel out a division equation what do we do?

axie:

we multiply both sides by the bottom number, (in this case two) so your left with 3x=6

axie:

pretty straight forward from there, any questions?

xXQuintonXx:

im like lost and im not rn

axie:

where you confused by it at all?

xXQuintonXx:

can you like break it down a lil more? like walk me through it cuz im like full on confused rn

axie:

ok so write your equation

xXQuintonXx:

how would i do that ._.

Celesta:

so when you do this you should get x alone 3+3x thats over 2 =9 so times 2 both sides so it be 3+3x=18

xXQuintonXx:

i havent done this stuff in 4ever rip me

axie:

quin tell me when you have your equation down and ill walk you through it

axie:

write this

Celesta:

\[3+3x=18 \] -3 -3 ____________ 3x=15

xXQuintonXx:

x=5?

Celesta:

then divide to get x alone (:

Celesta:

yasss

axie:

both of you are wrong xD

Celesta:

nu

axie:

mhm

xXQuintonXx:

._.

Celesta:

your wrong axie

Celesta:

i solved for x

|dw:1620399524866:dw|

axie:

start by subtracting 3 from both sides

axie:

BRUH WHAT EVEN ARE YOU DOING XDDD

xXQuintonXx:

IM like ubasdglkkabsdliugbnaskd;gjb confused rn

Celesta:

im x 2 to get ride of the 2

Celesta:

im getting x alone

axie:

yeah, step two tho

Celesta:

no thats step one- its easier

axie:

step one is subtracting both sides by 3 to get rid of the three

axie:

then divide both sides by two

Celesta:

no not dividing

Celesta:

you do the opposite

axie:

crap i meant multi

Celesta:

there u-u i happy now

xXQuintonXx:

._.

axie:

ok so multiply both sides by two to get rid of the two

axie:

x=4

snowflake0531:

no

xXQuintonXx:

x=5?

snowflake0531:

yes

Celesta:

exactly i said that xD

axie:

yay learning experience!

nice cover up xd

axie:

snow can you tell me where i went wrong?

snowflake0531:

I didnt' read through all of it, but your first step is wrong Why would you subtract 3 first-? You have to first get rid of the denominator, by multiply 2 on each side

axie:

ohhhh yeah i was doing the three first bc i forgot the steps
