How to write a thesis statments and examples of a thesis. By Jake111 Do not comment before I post it all.
Your thesis statement should clearly identify an argument. You need tohave a statement that is not only easy to understand, but one that isdebatable. Additionally, your thesis statement shouldn't be too big or too grand. It'llbe hard to cover everything in a thesis statementlike, "The federalgovernment should act now on climate change." The topic is just too large toactually say something new and meaningful. Instead,a more effective thesis statement might be, "Local governments can combatclimate change by providing citizens with larger recycling bins andoffering local classes aboutcomposting and conservation." This is easier to workwith because it's a smaller idea, but you can also discuss the overall topic that you might be interested in, which is climate change.
1.Vaccinations:Due to the fact that many children areunable to vaccinate due to illness, we must require that allhealthy and able children be vaccinated in order to have herd immunity 2.Educational Resources for Low-Income Students:Schoolsshouldprovide educational resources for low-income studentsduring thesummers so that they don't forget what they've learnedthroughout theschool year. 3.School Uniforms:School uniforms may be an upfrontcost for families, but they eradicate the visual differences in incomebetween studentsand provide a more egalitarian atmosphere at school. 4.Public Libraries:Librariesare essential resourcesfor communities and should be funded more heavily by local municipalities.
When writing a good thesis statement remember there are three main types of thesis statements 1) Informative...This should make the reader understand what you are writing about. This should give the reader a general understanding about the topic. 2) Argumentative.... This should help the reader understand your point of view and help them to realize your thinking on a topic. This should use examples of things such as slides, studies, charts, statistics ect... Then should evaluate a topic and help a reader get a general understanding of it. Example: To make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you must procure the ingredients, find a knife, and spread the condiments. This thesis showed the reader the topic (a type of sandwich) and the direction the essay will take (describing how the sandwich is made).
