Near the end of the novel, the narrator compares Tom to a child because: he's a doting father to Pammy, his child with Daisy. he isn't physically or emotionally mature. he has little understanding of how the world works. he doesn't seem to understand what money can do in the adult world. he hurts people, and then avoids taking responsibility for his actions.
