If everyone in the world (about 8 billion people) played a giant game of rock, paper, scissors, how many games would need to be played to determine the world champ?

4 billion about half of that
neveahisthebest:
ok thx
neveahisthebest:
and your sure right
0mega:
Well considering these terms, you'll need to make a tier list or table, and each winner will move up a round to face the winner of the next round|dw:1620923083216:dw|

Considering this, there would be 8 billion games playing around the world
0mega:
and if each game is first to 3 wins there would be 8 billion people playing till there's 3 wins, which could take a possibility of 5 rounds
neveahisthebest:
ok
neveahisthebest:

If you want to count your way through
1 game: 4 billion
2 games: 2 billion
3 games: 1 billion
4 games: 500 million
5 games: 250 million
6 games: 125 million
7 games: 62,500,000
8 games: 31,250,000
9 games: 15,625,000
10 games: 7,812,500
11 games: 3906250
12 games: 1953125
And then from there people will be chopped in half
FaZeGhost:

0mega:
cause remember each game could last 5 rounds if the game goes to 2 - 2
snowflake0531:
o-0 well, then I'll just say that the problem doesn't have enough information
I was just going off that one game was one round

Well, there are 8 billion people, I dont' think you want a game that would last for years and years xd
0mega:
the games would last for years
0mega:
cause if someone won in Russia, and the next person won in France to face that person in Russia, someone's gotta travel to face their opponent

In one day, people can play like let's just say... idk a city, if you wanted to finish
Then, cities go against each other, states, etc.
And of course the more it goes up, the more people who will look forward to seeing the games, and so the quicker the games will move on
