note the animale shelter with A given 3/4 of A are dogs how you write this ?

jhonyy9:

if we know that 3/4 of A are dogs so from result that 1/4 are not dogs what result from this ?

jhonyy9:

@extrinix do you wan continue ?

Extrinix:

Ok, so there are \(\dfrac{3}{4}\) dogs in a shelter, meaning \(\dfrac{1}{4}\) is something else. now, solve to get equal denominators \(\dfrac{3}{4} \dfrac{6}{6} = \dfrac{18}{24}\) (dogs) \(\dfrac{1}{6} \dfrac{4}{4} = \dfrac{4}{24}\) (beagles) Not included: \(\dfrac{1}{4} \dfrac{6}{6} = \dfrac{6}{24}\) (other) Now, add the two together: \(\dfrac{18}{24} + \dfrac{4}{24} = \dfrac{22}{24}\) Now you remove the "other" fraction ( \(\dfrac{1}{4}\) from the shelter amount ) \(\dfrac{22}{24} - \dfrac{6}{24} = \dfrac{16}{24}\) Now you simplify \(\dfrac{16}{24}\): \(\dfrac{16}{24} = \dfrac{2}{3}\) So, \(\dfrac{2}{3}\) would be your answer.

馃挅TYSMM @extrinix and @jhonyy9 馃挅

Extrinix:

You're welcome (from me AND jhonyy)

jhonyy9:

@extrinix if 3/4 of animals from a shelter are dogs so then 1/4 are other animals what mean that 4/4 = 1 is total animals and from this you continue that given 1/6 of 3/4 are beagles

Extrinix:

?

jhonyy9:

if 3/4 of animals are dogs the total animals you not can write in the form of 6/6

Extrinix:

But if you added the dogs and the "others" you would get 24/24 then if you subtracted 16 you would get 8/24... which is not one of the answers...

jhonyy9:

the total animals are in the form of 4/4

Extrinix:

6/6 is the multiplication part... the \times in latex didnt work

Extrinix:

Ok, so there are \(\dfrac{3}{4}\) dogs in a shelter, meaning \(\dfrac{1}{4}\) is something else. now, solve to get equal denominators \(\dfrac{3}{4} \dfrac{路 6}{路 6} = \dfrac{18}{24}\) (dogs) \(\dfrac{1}{6} \dfrac{路 4}{路 4} = \dfrac{4}{24}\) (beagles) Not included: \(\dfrac{1}{4} \dfrac{路 6}{路 6} = \dfrac{6}{24}\) (other) Now, add the two together: \(\dfrac{18}{24} + \dfrac{4}{24} = \dfrac{22}{24}\) Now you remove the "other" fraction ( \(\dfrac{1}{4}\) from the shelter amount ) \(\dfrac{22}{24} - \dfrac{6}{24} = \dfrac{16}{24}\) Now you simplify \(\dfrac{16}{24}\): \(\dfrac{16}{24} = \dfrac{2}{3}\) So, \(\dfrac{2}{3}\) would be your answer. Fixed it (hopefully)

jhonyy9:

idk what work or not in latex but in this way is correct 1/6 of 3/4 are beagles what mean this in a fraction ?

Extrinix:

Actually, I understand what you're saying now. 3/4 路 1/6 = ? you just multiply them in a calculator and you get 0.125... which is 1/8 so its not 2/3... my bad.

jhonyy9:

ok but now what is the right way toi solve it ? continue please
