here the qustion
I've answered this question on here already and similar questions hmm But since they're always in screenshots, I can't find those previous posts. So I'll just type out the question The two dot plots below compare the forearm length of two groups of school children: Forearm Length, Group A Forearm Length, Group B Based on visual inspection of the dot plots, which group appears to have the longer average forearm length? A. Group B, because seven children have a forearm length longer than 10 inches B. Group B, because three children in the group have the least forearm length of 9 inches C. Group A, because three children in the group have the least forearm length of 9 inches D. Group A, because two children have a forearm length longer than 10 inches
So here's the concept and I'm going to make up an example for you Let's say, I have two groups of numbers Group A has the numbers 10, 10, 10, 11, 11, 11, 12, 12, 12 and Group B has the numbers 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3 can you calculate the mean for both of these groups? Remember to calculate it, you add up all the numbers and divide by how many numbers there are and if we were to plot out the numbers |dw:1621034533182:dw|
So based on this example I just gave you with those numbers, can you see which graph has the higher mean based on where the numbers are plotted? If you can't tell based off the graph, just manually calculate the average. Add up all the numbers and divide by how many numbers there are in the list
So can you use that to answer your question? Which one would have a higher mean? It's going to be the one that has the larger numbers
