Spectrum:

2(2x-3)+1=7

axie:

so spectrum, we do the distributing first 4x-6+1=7 would be your new equation

snowflake0531:

Yes the distributive property a(b-c) = a(b)-a(c) So you get 2(2x) - 2(3) + 1 = 7 So that turns into 4x-6+1 = 7 From there, you can simplify and get 4x -5 = 7 and get your answer

so then add five to both sides and then 4x=12 then divide both sides by 4 to get 3
