You could think of the line equations using a picture like this. These linear equations take the form y = mx + b, where b is the y-intercept (where the line intersects the y axis) and m is the slope (the rate of change) For the upward line, the intersection with the y-axis is at (0,0), so our y-intercept is 0 for this one. Also, we can see that as x increases by 1, y increases by 2, which means our slope is 2. So, our equation for this first line is y = 2x+0, or simply y=2x In order to show your work, you could say for the y-intercept that when x=0, y=0, so b=0. For the slope, you could say that as x increases by 1, y increases by 2, so m=2 The same would apply for the other line. When x=0, y=11, so b = 11. As x increases by 3, y decreases by 1, so m = -1/3 The equation for this line would be y= -1/3 + 11
For the other part, you'll have to decide how to draw your own rectangle, triangle, and square, but finding the area of those shapes shouldn't be difficult. The area of a rectangle is equal to it's length multiplied by its width The area of a triangle is length times width, divided by 2 The area of a circle is pi multiplied by the radius squared
do it for me please ty
Aha, I can't "do it for you", but that's ok, it won't be hard. All you have to do is draw a rectangle, a triangle, and a circle on the grid. That means you can draw them in a way that it's easy to find their areas. If you go ahead and draw the shapes, I'll help you calculate the areas, but the drawing part is supposed to be your "creative" outlet
:(
No need to be sad. I mean, you know what those shapes are and how they look, right? Surely you're able to at least draw them yourself?
