JaySTudies:

Lorraine wants to the paint the 4 rectangular walls of a room, including the door. The room is 14 feet long and 14 feet wide, and the walls are 10 feet high. What is the total area that is to be painted?

Honda:

Since you only paint walls and not the floor or anything, we need the area of all 4 walls then add them together. I'm going to show you how to do it wall by wall. feel free to stop me if something doesn't make sense.

Honda:

So for the first wall, \[A=Area\] \[A=b*h\] \[A=14*10\] since we have two of these same walls we can multiply our answer by two. so it now becomes, \[A=2(14*10)\] got the area or do you need more for this one?

Honda:

Okay then. i'll do the other walls. i can't give you the answer tho. \[A=b*h\] \[A=14*10\] again 2 walls are the same. \[A=2(14*10)\] Here are your other two walls. let me know if you need more help
