Lines CD and DE are tangent to circle A as shown below: Lines CD and DE are tangent to circle A and intersect at point D. Arc CE measures 130 degrees. Point B lies on circle A. If arc CE is 130°, what is the measure of ∠ CDE?

HeartTricker:

Hi what would the answer choices be?

jhonyy9:

try make a draw about this - will be more easy understandably

AZ:

Here is the drawing |dw:1621658825117:dw|

AZ:

This is the formula you should know that 'a' and 'b' add up to 360 degrees |dw:1621658972339:dw|

AZ:

So if the arc is 130 then the remaining rest of the arc is 360 - 130 and so then you can you use the formula to calculate for the angle CDE which is X?

AZ:

you subtract the two arcs and divide by 2
