Moving in the positive x-direction means adding to the first half an x-amount of spaces, that is is (0+x, 0), moving in the positive y-direction does the same, but for the second half (0,0+y).
Moving in the negative x-direction means subtracting from the first half an x-amount of spaces, that is is (0-x, 0), moving in the positive y-direction does the same, but for the second half (0,0-y).
