Pythagorean Theorem Tutorial. Please do not comment until I am done.
First, it’s best to know what we’re learning about. Let’s start with our definitions, shall we? Hypotenuse: The longest side of right-angled triangle.(C) The length of the hypotenuse is always longer than A or B.
A and B are two lengths of the right angle. (It wont matter which is A and which is B) The Pythagorean Theorem is used to find the length of a right triangle. (PT) Example PT: \[a^{2}+b ^{2}=c ^{2}\]
In a right triangle, the sum of the squares of the length of the leg is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse. Let’s try one together. We’re going to find the length of the hypotenuse of this triangle. \[a^2+ b^2=c^2~1.~Detect~your~A~and~B~(should~be~the~numbers)~\]\[3^2 +4^2=c^2~2.~Input~them~into~the~equation.~(At~the~start) ~\]\[3 \times 3 + 4 \times 4= 9 + 16~3.~Lay~it~out.\] \[9 + 16 = c^2~ \]. 4. Now that you have solved it time to put it in to~isolate c find the square of both sides. \[\sqrt25=\sqrt c^2 Think~of~\it~this~way,~what ~is ~the~lowest ~of~ 25?~ 5!\] So your answer would be 5.
There are Pythagorean Triples. Pythagorean Triples Examples: \[3^2+4^2=5^2 \]\[5^2+12^2=13^2 \]\[8^2+15^2=17^2\] We can also use the PT to find the missing length of a leg, solve it just like an equation. Here’s another full example: Layout the solution:\[a^2+b^2=c^2\]Input your information: \[6^2+b^2=10^2 \]\[36 + b ^{2}=10 \] Cross out both 36’s at the start.. Subtract 100-36.\[36-36+b^2=100-36 \]\[b^2=64 \] After subtracting 100-35 you should get 64. \[b^2=64 \] This means your answer would be 64.
*Correction. \[\sqrt{b^2} = \sqrt{64}\] Divide 2 by 64 and you should get 8. b=8 This mean's your answer would be 8.
Good Job. c:
Tank You! c:
tanks besty this is bery helpfool xd
Yup c:
Great Job!
Thank you.
Here’s another full example: Layout the solution: a^2+b^2=c^2 Input your information: 6^2+b^2=10^2 36+b^2=10 ATTENTION please on the right part 10^2 = 100 not 10 !!!!
Thank you for another example <3
thank you astrid your very smart and this was very helpful
She is very very smart yeah, I love her for it. c:
yeah she is one smart girl
sanks so much
Chu are wewcome <3 <3 And Joshy, you are smart as well, and I love you for it too c:
Ohh, sorry o-o
I can't really edit the comment but thank you for the clarification o:
Awesome astrid
teach me how to divide
^._.^ Nah <.<
Im not even at that level but good job explaining it.
Yeah, c:
nice job astrid
Yes, very very nice job. c:
Thanks, besides my mathematical error jhonyy pointed out I think I did well o:
You also forgot to mention this:
| Right Obtuse Acute | \(c^2 = a^2 + b^2\) \(c^2 \gt a^2 + b^2\) \(c^2 \lt a^2 + b^2\) |
e.e I had a feeling this would crumble but thanks 😊
Aye, you did amazing, don't forget that.
She just missed a key jhonyy, not that big of a deal.
Geez, sorry. Maybe I should just close this ._. then none of it would hurt anybody's math grade.
you could make a repost, give all of the information you have now..
I would do that but I can't retype it. With both my laggy devices plus it won't go far. It's better and safer for me to close this than to leave it open.
