A Poem for Dad by: Destiny

Trying to hide it
Trying not to show the tears
Because it’s only weakness to you
Looking in the mirror
The only thing I see
Is a mess, a mistake
How could I be misplaced?
I don’t even belong here
Born in the wrong time, wrong place
But I put a smile on my face and pretend to be okay
Even though the only thing is 
This isn’t real
Neither am I
My entire life has been a lie
Can’t be okay
Never will be
So I’ll just keep going through the motions
Yeah, I’ll never be alright.
I’ve never been the same
Since you left
You burned a whole in my heart
Yet you don’t even care
How could a person like you
Leave me behind
I have a million questions left unanswered
I’ll never understand
How you could walk out
I thought I meant something to you

Years went by
Now I understand
I never did
Never will
Mean anything to you
