Have an example to look at and reference to. It's always good to have something to compare it to. Shading is really key when doing a realistic drawing because it brings out the details. You really just want to focus on the features. Using darker lines on what you want to stand out more and lighter on what you want to look farther away. Hope this helps!! :)
