interesting question it in fact helped nicolaus copernicus's heliocentric theory, which was all about the sun being the center rather than earth. the notion was proven by galileos observations of jupiter and venus. he deduced that they must orbit the sun, going behind and beyond it at times, rather than circling directly around the earth. so we can say that there were new shreds of evidence that refined the theorems -- can you pull the answer? its really easy at this point
