In the night sky the stars flash around like lightning running around
In darkness is the perfect time to tell stories, and watch movies, and even put in a fright
When you are alone in the darkness though it is a sight to behold
With monsters and demons and shadows waiting for your soul.

In the night you never know what goes on
Because your mind likes to play tricks like a magician or clown
When you are alone it is a horror to survive
Because you never know what's waiting on the other side.

In the darkness you wait to fall asleep
You hope you have good dreams
But are in despair because any moment a nightmare could appear
Beware of the monsters lurking outside
Waiting for you to close your weary eyes
So that they can come in for a midnight snack.

Though when you wake up and open your eyes
The sun is shining brightly waiting for you to come outside
You get up in relief believing that it was a nightmare
But little do you know that the monsters were outside last night
Watching you sleep and finding a way inside
So that tonight when you close your eyes
They can come in as the midnight hour is closing in
And come to your bedroom where your fast asleep
To get that sweet midnight bite.
