After buying a new cell phone, Mrs. Vaston sold her old cell phone to her neighbor. She used $38.56 of the money she made to get a case for her new phone. Mrs. Vaston had $111.44 left. Let p represent how much Mrs. Vaston made from selling her old phone. Which equation models the problem? Solve this equation to find how much Mrs. Vaston made from selling her old phone.

AZ:

Let's say Mrs. Vatson made 'x' dollars from selling her old phone She spends 38.56 to buy a case for her new phone and now she has 111.44 dollars left how would you write that as an equation?

AZ:

let me give you a similar example so you can see the concept and then you should be able to apply it to your own question! I have an old car and I sell it for 1,000 I then spend $600 of that money to buy paint so I can paint my new car so now I'm left with only $400 do you see how the numbers work? 1000 - 600 = 400 so can you apply that to your own question to write the equation with x?

AZ:

and your question says to use 'p' as the price of how much the old phone sold for so when looking at your answer choices, just replace the 'x' with a 'p' instead
