okay so we need to split this shape into multiple rectangles. we can have a 6x2 a 5x4 and a an 8x2. so we need to combine them. whats 12 + 20 + 16 ?

thats 48 , and what I did was, 6 X 2=12 and then I did 2 X 8=16 and I added them together which was 28. Thats why I wanted to make sure I was doing it right

when you attempted it you forgot the middle section which is 5 x 4 = 20 and then 28 + 20 = 48 so yes it is 48. good job :)
