Mary's favorite hobby is tending to her vegetable garden. The garden bed has a total area of 48 square feet. She has planted cherry tomatoes in t square feet of the garden and cucumbers in the other 36 square feet.

If you're trying to solve for how much square feet the cherry tomatoes took up.... You have 48 square feet in all, and 36 goes to cucumbers, so just do 48-36
