Notes: 3/23/2021 research simulation task • 3 texts • Text 1- anchor- main- will be about topic. • Text 2- questions about text 1 and 2 • Text 3- questions either 1,3 or 2,3 or 1,2, and 3 • Non-fiction text- history or science 1. Tone- the attitude of the author uses to show how he feels about or perceives a topic. -decide if the author is for or against the topic? -if the author is for the topic, tone will positive. Against the topic, negative. 2. Claim- is your argument (for or against) 3. Reason- why? Support for the way I feel. 4. Evidence- is your proof based on facts. Is the evidence relevant and sufficient? 3. rules- a. evidence specifically supports author’s claim. b. several evidence given. c. evidence based on facts and not opinion. 5. valid reasoning- the reasons must be related to the claim for them to be valid.
