It would be easier to determine the topic sentence with the article it is referring to. But if I were to use context clues, and refer to all the answer options, I would know that the article is about when the Parthenon was being used for ammunition storage, and how an explosion happen in it. Going by this we can eliminate the answer choices that don't make sense. Options 1, 2 and 3 all contain developing details toward one topic. Think of them as the supporting details. Option 4 is the option containing the key information. The statement in option 4 is the most important statement, as well as one that all the other options can support. The answer would be Option 4.
