kaibeth:

Recent outbreaks of bacterial illnesses have been traced back to specific foods eaten in restaurants. Why is it important to find the source of the bacteria, beyond where the food was served? A. To allow lawsuits to be filed against the proper source B. To determine the strain of bacteria and develop a detailed course of treatment C. To eliminate that source from the produce or meat packing industry D. To correct the storage or food preparation practice that is causing the spread of bacteria

kaibeth:

Is it B?

AZ:

No, that is not correct. Why do you want to find the source? When a sick person comes in, you can culture the bacteria and determine which bacteria it is and what strain. And then appropriately treat it. You don't need to find the source for that. You just need one sick person. And if there's multiple people getting sick by the same bacteria, you would want to find the source to prevent more people from getting sick. So why is it important to find the source of the food?

kaibeth:

So then A? Because you have to find the source?

kaibeth:

i mean c

You got it

kaibeth:

ok thank you, have a great day!

kaibeth:

really not c?

kaibeth:

b then

AZ:

This question seems really specific that the outbreaks are just tied to a restaurant. When outbreaks happen at a larger scale, it's usually because of contaminated food and then recalls are sent out to grocery stores to remove those items. But this is more specific at only a restaurant So... maybe they're not doing something properly at the restaurant which is causing bacteria to grow which would make what the answer?

AZ:

Actually nevermind

AZ:

It says restaurants which is plural

kaibeth:

it says restaurants plural
