SmokeyBrown:

Hi and welcome to QuestionCove! To start with, would you say you need help more with designing the pamphlet itself or with researching the information you will include in the pamphlet?

Qamar:

I need help with researching the information that I need to include within the pamphlet.please help

SmokeyBrown:

Ok, sure thing. I assume we're dealing with American presidential campaigns, and you can correct me if I'm off. Off the top of my head, I can think of public fundraising campaigns, which could include direct methods like door-to-door fundraising, phone calls, things like that. I think there are actually laws that prevent individuals from donating too much money to political campaigns, which I could fact-check. A lot of the money for these political campaigns actually come from special interest groups like lobbyists and PACs. These groups may want a candidate to be elected because they believe that the candidate will represent their views and interests, so they work to raise money, which they donate to the campaign. I think the above would count as "publicly funded", though I'm not certain. As for "federal financing" I'm not entirely sure what that means. I'll have to look into that to be certain.

SmokeyBrown:

While I'm doing some quick research, what are some things you know about the campaign fundraising process? If there's any information you already have, we can try to build off of that.

Qamar:

I don't

SmokeyBrown:

It looks like federal financing is done through the Federal Elections Commission. They have an official website with information about guidelines that candidates must follow and descriptions of the process. https://www.fec.gov/ You might have to navigate through several pages on the site, but the information you need should be there, at least with regards to federal financing

Qamar:

ok, thanks a lot!

SmokeyBrown:

Sure thing, I hope you find it helpful! Feel free to let us know if you need anything else
