Tasia2222:

Discuss how you would design a probability experiment to determine the probability of rolling a 3 with a pair of dice. Briefly outline the steps you would follow to execute the experiment. Be sure to include the sample space, the number of trials, and a discussion on the differences between experimental and theoretical probability.

Vocaloid:

Please do not copy paste my response. You would obtain a pair of dice, roll it many times, and record the # of times you got a 3. Your sample space is the list of all possible outcomes for rolling two dice (try to determine this yourself, I’ll help if you get stuck) and your # of trials is how many times you plan to roll the dice. You want to pick a high number that is still feasible to do in an experiment. Recall that experimental probability is the actual probability determined by the experimental results. Theoretical probability is calculated based on what the ideal/average probability would be (I.e. for a coin flip a heads would be 1/2)
