I think we can rule out A, since the British presence caused the demand for cash crops to increase, not decrease.
I also think that the British colony put more of an emphasis on exploiting the natural resources of the Gold Coast than the products or manufacturing of the region, so I think that makes C and D unlikely to be the correct answer as well.
With that in mind, I think B is the most likely answer. This is just based on my reasoning and limited knowledge, but I am not completely certain if it is the correct choice
