Aaron used 3.25 oz of peanut butter and 0.5 oz of marshmallow cream for a fruit dip. How many ounces did he use in total? Round your answer to match the less precise measurement. 3.8 oz 4 oz 3.5 oz 3.75 oz

MrMudd183:

Which one do you think we can eliminate?

jowhite:

I don't know yet

MrMudd183:

I think we can eliminate B, since you're adding the units together and it'll only add the decimal places....but it will only add the tenths place

jowhite:

OK

MrMudd183:

What do you think the answer is after the knowledge given?

MrMudd183:

I'm believing it's D Because you're only adding the tenths place together, and 5+2=7 All you would have to do now is bring down the 3 in the ones place and the 5 in the hundredths place then you have your answer

DustinSettle:

Try adding 3.25 +0.5 which equals 3.75

Vocaloid:

Keep in mind it is asking to round to the least precise measurement Between 3.25 and 0.5, 0.5 is less precise (fewer decimal places) So you should add 3.25 + 0.5 ***and*** round to 1 decimal place.

DustinSettle:

Your answer is 3.75

Vocaloid:

Like I just mentioned, it is asking to round to the least precise measurement, so you cannot just stop at 3.75. You must also round.

Actually, it'll be 3.8 As Voca is saying, you need to round up The 5 within the hundreths place will make the 7 in the tenths place become an 8

DustinSettle:

k
