Floo:

Is the Bible truly God's word?

Floo:

Does God make mistakes?

Floo:

Because the God the Bible preaches does which insinuates he is limited not limitless.

SmokeyBrown:

I'm always down for some good old fashioned Bible discussion study meetings. To address your original question, the various books that make up the Bible were written by human beings, but they do claim to represent the true and accurate Word of God. So, if you believe in the Bible, then you would believe that it is the Word of God.

Not sure what you meant by this one. Is there a part of the Bible that suggests God is limited, rather than limitless? That was the opposite of my impression, but I could be wrong

sxdsouls:

I commend you for admitting that there are multiple authors and multiple versions of the Bible. Who are not well known today. We do not know much about these people, but what we do know is that they are not prophets. So how true can what they wrote actually be? If the author of ones holy book is not God himself how can you be so sure what you are reading is the truth? Throughout time God has sent 'narrators' to 'relay' his words. These people are his messengers/prophets. Who is King James, Daivd, John Maxs, and many more men claiming to have the book of God? Does this not seem ludicrous to you. Secondly, when I referred to a limitless and limited entity depending on it's hierarchy and how far up it is on the food chain I believe it should not have human flaws. God being the greatest example. How can a God be limited? If God is truly communicating with these unknown figures surely he will not make a mistake when relaying his word. Which if you read or have read a few different copies of the Bible you will notice. who incited prophet David to count the fighting men of Israel? God did (2 Samuel 24: 1) Satan did (I Chronicles 2 1:1) The chief of the mighty men of David lifted up his spear and killed how many men at one time? Eight hundred (2 Samuel 23:8) Three hundred (I Chronicles 11: 11) In that count how many fighting men were found in Israel? Eight hundred thousand (2 Samuel 24:9) One million, one hundred thousand (IChronicles 21:5) Are these not clear incongruities? I would go as far as saying these are fallacies created by a limited human. Unless of course, you claim the God(s) you worship to be limited.
