17. The letter u in Spanish has a _____ sound. The word _____ in English has a similar ‘u’ sound. common, move detailed, more specific, move unphoneti

Mgkforlife:

if you think about when you speak Spanish it sounds like "uh" or a "u" sound hope this helps

SmokeyBrown:

Hi, and welcome to QuestionCove! Take the Spanish word "uva" (grape) for example. The "u" in that word is pronounced "oo", so the word is pronounce "oo-vah", not "uh-vah". This is true for Spanish words in general. The "u" character would always make the "oo" sound; I actually cannot think of any Spanish words that use the "uh" sound, but I am sure that they would not use "u" for that sound. So, based on the assumption that "u" always makes the "oo" sound in Spanish (as in the English words "do" or "true"), which answer choice do you think would be best?
