You should try to consider some of the effects that this change on the human population has had. You might consider the impact this has had on the natural environment, the issues relating to sustainability, shifts in culture and society resulting from increased population, perhaps even political or economic factors, etc.
There are many things you could point to or draw from to formulate your response. First of all, I think you should try to figure out your stance on the question, based on knowledge or information that you have available to you. This might require you to do some research and thinking on your own; if you can find out for yourself how you feel about the topic, you'll be well on your way to answering the question.
