Can someone explain to me or find me details about how to "Explain how freedoms for African Americans were socially, politically, and economically limited from 1865 to 1900."

This is a topic I excel in.
So the "freedoms" the African Americans had at this time were very small and limited because they were seen more as objects than people.

FexrlessRxby:
And those stereotypes started to change people's minds about African Americans since the first ones were slaves.
Astro:
Also remember that African Americans were always ever slaves so when they had their "freedoms" people still thought of them as such. Basically what @fexrlessrxby said just a little more in depth kinda lol

Currently today, we have improved on these stereotypes, but we are still not as good as we could have made them.
Astro:
I agree, There is not really a real reason for these stereotypes other than the fact that people are always judging others. So even though African Americans still have freedoms it's still not as free as it is for other citizens

Starting in the early years of 1865-1900 African American people were restricted from carrying any weapon or participating in being any part of the court system without a permit. The Jim Crow law and the Black codes law made this restriction economically for every African American person making everything socially limited for people during these times . The start of segregation led to the Plessy v. Ferguson act that was upheld in a supreme court.
Southern States passed many laws discriminating against the African American people making it politically hard for African American people to have voting rights. They couldn't be a part of any of the political systems and they had no power over anything. To make sure that all African Americans got the message clear the group known as the Ku Klux Klan or KKK was formed by white people. The group destroyed and burned down black churches, schools, and even killed innocent people.
During the Civil War cotton production in the South was reduced by a lot. The banks went into a deep debt and Because of the unrest of the economy white people began to lash out at the african american people. So when the south finally came back together economically the stock markets that produced the cotton were in bad shape because other countries depend on themselves to produce their own cotton that is how African American people were affected economically.

"To make sure that all African Americans got the message clear the group known as the Ku Klux Klan or KKK was formed by white people" There is a lack of wording here. It's really good just a few parts that could use a little revising but overall. I give this a 8.5/10. A little more information supporting details would be nice, but again it's very well written

For the 2nd paragraph, the laws made it so that the African Americans had barely any rights, not just no voting rights.
FexrlessRxby:
Everything else on it is fine.

Ask astro if there's anything else he thinks you should change.
