WHAT MAKES A MURDER MYSTERY SUSPENSEFUL??????

Laylalyssa:

suspense

Vocaloid:

Please do not copy-paste my response. Suspense is "a state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may happen" (source: Oxford Languages). In a murder mystery, the reader/narrator doesn't know who the murderer is, their motives, etc. when the murder happens, so there's a lot of uncertainty as the characters try to figure out information about the killer. Additionally, murder mysteries can have multiple murders throughout the story, so the characters are always on edge, thinking they might be the next victim.
