kaitlyncrafton:

Paula bisected angle XYZ, forming angles XYW and WYZ. Given that XYZ is an obtuse angle, which statement cannot be true?

Shyanntate1:

what do you think it is

kaitlyncrafton:

a) m<WYZ is less than 90 degrees b) m<WYZ = m<XYW c) m<WYZ is greater than 90 degrees d) m<XYZ = 2 * m<XYW

Shyanntate1:

what do you think the answer is

kaitlyncrafton:

I think it is b.

foxy44:

umm hold on.

foxy44:

ight, i think so too!

Vocaloid:

Politely disagree with the previous responses m<WYZ and m<XYW *must* be equal because they were formed from bisecting XYZ. We are looking for a false statement so B cannot be the solution. The original angle XYZ is obtuse (90-180 degrees). If it is bisected (cut in two equal halves) what does that tell you about the measurements of each new angle?
