|dw:1631155475460:dw| It might not be obvious at first, but if you look at these three lines from your original diagram, you can see that these two angles are corresponding angles, and thus equal thus, 49 + 3x = 7x -23 you have another pair of corresponding angles on the lower side (3x and 11y - 1 meaning 3x = 11y - 1). once you have the x from the previous step, you can plug it into this equation to get y.
